Yes, Malaysian drivers. Unfortunately, it looks like yet another road will be closed in the city for the next month. So, take note!
The road in question, Jalan Raja at Dataran Merdeka, will reportedly be closed for the next month starting tomorrow (15th November).
The road is being closed in conjunction with the 2017 Negaraku Expo.
The Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Prime Minister’s Department issued a statement regarding the matter, and according to Bernama, the road is being closed in order to make sure visitors were able to safely and conveniently get to Dataran Merdeka during the Negaraku Expo.
However, Jalan Raja won’t be closed for that long, as it’s set to reopen on the 16th of December.
In the meantime, EPU advised Malaysians to find alternative routes to reach their destinations. As for those who wish to go to the expo, they have been advised to use the LRT, MRT and Monorail instead.
Also, if you haven’t already heard, there are three other roads in the city that have been temporarily closed until January 2018 due to maintenance works. So, add Jalan Tun Razak, the Exit to Kampung Pandan Roundabout, and Jalan Davis to your list, alongside Jalan Raja!
So, if you’re commuting to work using these roads, it’s best to find an alternative route to avoid any hassle!
