A viral dashcam footage shows a couple on a motorcycle being hit by a 4×4 pickup truck on the NKVE Highway near the Jalan Duta toll.
The riders, who were in the left lane, fell to the ground after being struck by the 4×4. The driver immediately fled the scene. However, another motorist managed to capture the vehicle’s registration number at the Jalan Duta toll and shared the footage online.

It didn’t take long for Malaysian social media users to identify the vehicle owner and his address. In an official statement by PDRM in Kuala Lumpur today (May 11), police confirmed that the 32-year-old driver of the Nissan Navara had lodged a police report and was promptly detained for investigation.
Riders sustained major injuries, one in ICU

According to PDRM, the accident occurred yesterday (May 10) on the NKVE Highway around 2:30 pm. The driver lodged a police report at 6:55 pm and is currently being held at the Dang Wangi Police Station for two days.
The driver reportedly attempted to overtake another motorcycle but failed, resulting in the collision that caused both riders to suffer serious injuries.
The 53-year-old rider sustained a broken bone and an ankle injury, while his 49-year-old wife is currently in the ICU with head trauma, a broken ankle, and fractured ribs.
At the time of writing, PDRM confirmed that the suspect was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the incident.

Vehicle allegedly lent to another person
In a Facebook video, content creator Mr. J claimed that the Nissan Navara was being driven by someone other than the owner. The vehicle’s owner, who appeared alongside Mr. J, confirmed that he had lent the vehicle to another individual, whose identity he did not disclose.
Mr. J added that following the circulation of the vehicle’s registration number, the owner’s address also went viral, leading to online criticism, which Mr. J described as unfair.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
