Recently, there has been an increase in viral stories involving motorcyclists and road enforcement officers, may it be the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Road Transport Department (JPJ) or the city council.
Previously, we shared the story of how a p-hailing delivery rider’s motorcycle was seized after not renewing the road tax for 7 months. Besides that, we also reported on how a motorcyclist crashed into a JPJ officer during a roadblock.
Now, another video involving motorcyclists and the authority is making its rounds online, this time involving two teens being issued summonses for an offence, most probably for riding without helmets.
As shared by X user nanmanjoi8715, the video showed the two boys, most likely secondary school students, speaking and following the instructions of a police traffic officer in a very respectful manner.
At the start of the video, the two individuals can be seen at a junction talking to the officer while their motorcycle was parked by the roadside. The officer can be seen writing on a handheld device, which is likely used to produce traffic summonses to the two teens.
One of the two boys then can be seen putting his signature on the handheld device, confirming the details of the summonses. The officer can then be seen handing over the summonses to the teen.
After receiving the summonses, the teen can be seen moving towards the motorcycle before stopping and shaking the hand of the officer. Not only that, he also followed the local customs when interacting with an older person and kissed the hand of the officer.
Afterwards, the two teen then hopped on the motorcycle and before leaving, they again went over to the police officer, with both shaking and kissing his hand before making their way.

In the replies to the X post, many Malaysians were amused by the interaction, saying that while the two teens are definitely in the wrong for breaking traffic regulations, they accepted the summonses and was respectful of the police officer.
One commenter said that the two boys have been raised well by their parents, while another said that unlike other viral cases before this, the teen still has respect for the authority.
Meanwhile, a netizen praised the two teens, with another commenter jokingly said that manners is our cultural heritage.
