During the past week, any Malaysian who owns and uses a social media account is bound to know about the couple who had intercourse in a red Axia.

As the clip had gone viral in most communities, PDRM got involved and the couple, a 22-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were arrested by the police. They were later released on bail.

Tebrau MP, Jimmy Puah has gotten in touch with the couple and their family. According to his Facebook post, the couple told the MP that the person who was recording them pretended to be a policeman.

The person who was recording them asked for their IC and when they did not give them to him, he threatened them.

They then tried to run away from the “policeman” who was chasing them up to the Pasir Putih Police Station.

The MP also gave his own take on this case where he said that what the couple did is indeed morally wrong.

However, this case is currently being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code, where if found guilty, the sentence would be jail time of up to 2 years while for someone below 18 years old, they will be sent to a reform school.

“It cannot be denied that what they did is morally wrong, but for the young couple to face a jail sentence, it’s too much.”

The MP also hopes that the police will continue investigations on this.
