A Porsche Panamera ended up in a ditch in Selangor after the driver lost control of the car while trying to retrieve a phone that had slipped under the seat.
In the accident that occurred on Jalan Sungai Rambai, Jenjarom, yesterday (15 December), the driver, a businessman in his 40s, was heading to Jenjarom from Shah Alam.

He wanted to launch the Google Maps application on his phone before the device slipped under the seat, prompting him to pick up the phone. He ended up momentarily losing sight of the road.
Kuala Langat District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said that the driver lost control towards the left of the road before the vehicle skidded over a ditch and landed on the bank.
The driver didn’t suffer any injuries
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving without due care and consideration. In Akmalrizal’s official statement today (16 December), he confirmed that the driver carried a valid driving license.
“The public and witnesses to the incident who have information regarding the accident are asked to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Mazrol Mohd. Din at 011-18539115 or 03-31872222 or any nearby police station,” he said in the statement.

At the time of the incident, the driver also carried no passengers.
