Local designer brand, Vern’s recently went viral for 1 of its logo designs that resembled “Allah”. The organisation has since debunked the theory and withdrawn the shoe design from sales.
Bersatu Youth Chief, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal thinks the matter has unnecessarily elevated to the point that it’s causing chaos among the community. On his X post @wanfayhsal, Wan said that this matter is too much and it’s “getting more ridiculous and making Islam look petty”.
“This is what happens when some Muslims themselves don’t understand the concept of ‘Commanding Right & Forbidding Wrong’.”
“We can’t be paranoid all the time!”
Wan also reminded everyone through his X post and said that actions taken have to be based on logic and knowledge, not emotions. In response to Vern’s controversial shoe logo design, Wan said that it was nowhere near any violation of any Islamic laws.
“It was not meant as an insult. Stop being paranoid. We can’t be paranoid all the time and think everything is against Islam,” Wan said.
In the meantime, Wan also had another reminder for the media friends when it comes to reporting these matters. He believed that the media should stop giving the limelight to this kind of news and said,
“The media should stop reporting these ridiculous news for the sake of viral readership!”
Wan ended his tweet and sent a reminder to everyone, saying “Islam is not a religion for stupid people!”
Earlier, a video of Vern’s “Allah” shoe design went viral on social media, prompting the UMNO Youth Chief, Dr. Akmal Saleh to demand an explanation or a boycott if the company failed to come up with one
This is getting ridiculous and made Islam look very petty and bad!

Vern’s responded with an apology and explanation to deny the claim.
What do you think of Wan’s take on this matter?
