Despite being recently detained in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and investigated by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM)  over the whole KK Mart boycott fiasco, Umno Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh seems unperturbed and has even issued a warning against a local brand for an alleged similar offensive design on what of its products.

Taking to his official Facebook page, Akmal is giving a local footwear brand 24 hours to clarify its high-heeled shoe with a logo that’s kin to Arabic calligraphy of the word ‘Allah’ or face boycott.

In the Facebook post, Akmal, who is also the assemblyperson for Merlimau, said that he was made aware of the alleged offensive shoe design through a message and was incensed by it.

However, after calming himself down, he said that he took a closer look at the alleged offensive design and gathered as much information regarding the design of the shoe as possible.

After stumbling upon a post informing that the logo is actually an illustration of a high-heeled shoe rather than an Arabic calligraphy of the word ‘Allah’, the Umno Youth Chief began to also see the design as such.

The Umno Youth Chief asserted,

“We Muslims in Malaysia won’t act recklessly without checking first as we have good thoughts first and require an explanation from your side.

“If there’s no explanation given in 24 hours, then don’t blame us if we boycott your products.”
