Recently, a family in Kedah had gone viral on social media after an image of their baby, who had medical equipment attached to him, had been captured and uploaded.

Now their plight has gotten the attention of the Prime Minister.

BERNAMA took to their Twitter page to share how the Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, had reached out a helping hand to the family, as well as the family’s reaction towards the attention they’re receiving online.

BERNAMA wrote, “The family of an 11-month-old baby, who has to rely on a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure breathing aid due to chronic lung disease, was moved when their story of hardship caught the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.”

“The baby’s father, 36-year-old Mohd Azlan Ishak, said he and his wife, 35-year-old Norhidayu Halim, are grateful that there are netizens who shared their photos on social media and received various reactions, including the Prime Minister who has offered help.”

While the father is still worried that cybertroopers might spread criticism about their family, he feels relieved that the social media attention has led to his family receiving assistance.

“I was moved and surprised when I found out that our story had reached the knowledge of the Prime Minister, but we were also very sad because we were worried about being criticised by netizens. We were worried that people would say all kinds of things, but I am also grateful to netizens who made us viral, they helped us,” he said.

We genuinely hope that cybertroopers will refrain from spreading any falsehoods about the family and allow them to focus on their adorable baby.

Should you wish to donate to the family, you can do so through the mother, NorHidayu Halim’s Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) account, 0210029000677695.
