Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, as announced by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Malaysian government has been taking the necessary measures to ensure that the virus is contained.

But unfortunately, due to the skyrocketing number of cases in Malaysia, prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has now banned the Malaysian people from travelling overseas.

As according to a statement released, all Malaysians returning to Malaysia will have to go into a mandatory self-quarantine for a period of 14 days. Foreigners and tourists are also hereby restricted from entering Malaysia.

These restrictions are in accordance with the Movement Control Order, under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and the Police Act 1967. The order, which includes the travel and tourism restrictions, will commence from the 18th of March, 2020 until the 31st of March, 2020.

Let’s hope that our dedicated doctors, medical experts and scientists find a containment method or cure to the virus as soon as possible.
