Interstate travel in Malaysia is once again, banned.
Prime minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin declared the ban today during his announcement of the soon-to-be implemented Movement Control Order (MCO) on certain states.

“Interstate travel is not allowed throughout the whole country, while in MCO areas, interdistrict travel is also not allowed,” he said.
In addition to this, he shared that roadblocks will be implemented starting 12.01am, 13 January (Wednesday) in order to enforce and uphold the travel restrictions.
“For states under MCO, your movements have been limited to a 10-kilometre radius. For the purpose of buying essentials from supermarkets or the nearest convenience stores, only TWO members of a family are allowed to go out and be in a vehicle at a time. Any individuals found breaking this restriction will be compounded a maximum of RM1,000,” he added.
