The Malaysian Embassy in Manila has confirmed that the local authorities of the Republic of the Philippines have raided Xinchuang Network Technology Inc.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, Wisma Putra shared that, due to the raid, they have have successfully rescued victims of a crime syndicate, which consists of people from various countries including Malaysia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Malaysian Embassy in Manila, has since been actively identifying and confirming the status of 134 victims who are believed to be Malaysian citizens, out of a total of 2,714 victims of the job offer fraud, forced labour and wrongful detention syndicate in the country.
“The victims who are believed to be Malaysians will undergo the process of investigation, documentation and deportation to Malaysia in the near future. Any updated information related to this matter will be communicated from time to time,” Wisma Putra explained.
It was initially reported that 2,714 people were rescued by the Philippines police following a raid on the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) in Las Pinas City.
They had also identified the owner, operator, facilitator and manager of Xinchuang Network Technology Inc, formerly known as Hong Tai.
