Myvi may be the King of the road but not in terms of its sales. Data by the Road Transport Department of Malaysia shows that Myvi is the 2nd most popular car in Malaysia, so who is crowned the champion?

With over 56,000 cars registered so far this year, Perodua Bezza is at the top of the list with Myvi King coming in 2nd, with over 45,000 cars registered this year. This year has proven to be a great year for Perodua because the car that is ranked 3rd in the list is Perodua Axia, with over 44,000 cars registered.

That’s 3 Perodua cars in a row!

But Perodua cars did not stop appearing in the list. Perodua continued to dominate the Top 10 list with Alza and Ativa, with 23,000 and 22,000 registered cars, respectively.

This puts Perodua-manufactured cars at the top of the list, with over 204,000 cars registered by November 2023.

Other cars that made it into the top 10 list are,

  • Proton Saga
  • Proton X50
  • Proton Persona
  • Honda City
  • Toyota Hilux

Perodua Myvi, however, had the most registered users last year, with nearly 75,000. Honda City sees a drop from the 5th ranking last year to 8th this year.

Well, it’s good news that Malaysians have confidence in local production when it comes to cars. It’s not just about the affordable maintenance fees and the availability of the spare parts but the numbers reflect how Malaysians are proudly driving local cars on the streets!

Perodua users, are you proud that your car dominated the top 10 list?
