A Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officer from the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (JSPT) recently went viral after a video of him risking his own life to save a driver of a submerged MPV at Jalan Chan Sow Lin yesterday made its rounds on social media.
The video has also been reshared by PDRM on its official Facebook page, giving further context to the incident.
The incident happened at around 6pm yesterday (October 6), whereby 3 traffic police officers rushed to the scene after finding a Nissan X-Trail almost submerged in the tunnel at Jalan Chan Sow line en route to Jalan Pudu during a flash flood in Kuala Lumpur.
The 3 traffic police officers were Corporal Syed Syafiq Syed Halim, Lance Corporal Muhammad Afizul Ismail, and Lance Corporal Shahrip Kamaruzaman.
One of them then jumped into the flooded tunnel, heroically saving the 27-year-old driver and bringing the man to safety.
Afterward, the MPV is almost fully submerged in the flood water. Kudos to all 3 police traffic officers for their quick action in saving the driver!
