The way you address certain figures, especially those with fame can be sensitive. If you’re in your 20s or early 30s, can you relate to being called an uncle?

A Malaysian customer at a restaurant in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, clearly doesn’t like being called an uncle, and he made sure everyone is aware of that. On Sunday (June 4), a restaurant, Darlis Nasi Dagang Ganu shared CCTV footage via its Facebook page, showing a customer in a yellow shirt who got upset, went amok, and started throwing beverages and chairs around.

And no, his disappointment had nothing to do with the food or the service. The man was upset after being addressed as “uncle”.

According to the caption of the post, a kid who was at the restaurant with his family was exposed to a hot beverage that he threw out of anger. The kid cried out of pain and fear while another woman was seen chasing the man away, which made things worse.

He started throwing chairs around before carrying his bag and walking away.

According to a police statement by Subang Jaya’s Chief Police Officer, the manager of the restaurant lodged a police report after the video went viral yesterday (June 6). The manager said the customer started to behave aggressively after being addressed as uncle, and he lost control when the worker refused to call him “Abang” or “Baby” as requested.

At the time of writing (June 7), PDRM is still on the hunt for the man in yellow.

“An investigation is being carried out under Section 506/532 of the Penal Code. Those who have relevant information and if you see the suspect, please contact us at 03-78627100.”

You can watch the clip below.

His overreaction had caused chaos at the scene and frightened a child who was exposed to the hot beverage that he threw. Hopefully, the police will be able to locate him in no time.
