The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has revealed that a handful of drug ‘bosses’ in Kelantan are using their luxurious lifestyles as bait to attract school students to get involved in drug trafficking.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Yusoff Mamat, shared that the luxury displayed by these drug ‘bosses’ instils excitement among teenagers, who will then subsequently treat these drug ‘bosses’ as idols.

“They display their luxury to attract students. Eventually, these students will be influenced and start getting involved in small ways. When they see the lucrative results, they immediately get hooked,” he said.
School students have been arrested
He also shared that, between January and September of this year, a total of 12 arrests involving school students being involved in drug abuse were recorded.
The police are currently monitoring the situation to curb this phenomenon.
The authorities’ war against drugs in Kelantan
In March this year, Mohd Yusoff revealed that many product founders and influencers in the state are involved in drug trafficking and money laundering, using their businesses as a front to cover the operation.
In July, a couple posing as chicken sellers and e-hailing drivers was arrested in the state as part of an RM3.1 million drug bust.
Most recently, in September, RM30.2 million worth of drugs were seized in Kelantan with the help of the Kelantan Customs K9 unit.
