One of the largest badminton tournaments, the PETRONAS Malaysia Open, is currently taking place in Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur! Fellow Malaysians, it’s high time we express our boundless support to the national badminton team so they’re all fired up for the tournament ahead.

1. Get to know our national athletes
#GemilangkanLagi features some of our nation’s top badminton players. In this exciting online series, the shuttlers will read and react to fans’ Tweets, show off their killer moves and more! Before we dive into the fun details, let us unveil the players who are part of the online series!
Chipmunks ?: Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik
Need we say more? Paired up in 2017, this men’s doubles pair is no stranger to fellow Malaysians, especially after they brought home gold from the Southeast Asian Games in 2019!
Just last year, the duo unlocked yet another significant achievement by winning the 2022 BWF World Championships, clinching Malaysia’s first-ever world title in the tournament!
Pearthin ?: Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan
Being part of the national team since 2013, both Pearly and Thinaah are gold medalists from the women’s doubles and the mixed teams categories at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The duo secured their first BWF World Tour title during the Swiss Open back in 2021. A year later, they became the first-ever Malaysian women’s doubles pair to claim the French Open title!
Team Tangan Kuat ?: Nur Izuddin and Goh Sze Fei
The double shuttlers have been playing alongside each other since 2016—this explains their strong chemistry and solid friendship!
Together, they won a bronze medal at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships and secured their first BWF World Tour title in the 2022 German Open.
