No matter what your opinion on foreigners are, it is never right to harass and provoke someone into making them upset.

Recently, in a video which has gone viral on social media, a man had recorded his interaction with a foreigner who was working as a food delivery rider in Singapore.

Although it is unclear on how the interaction started, the video starts off with the man telling the foreigner to keep his distance and scolding him for doing local delivery jobs.

“Give me the receipt if not I will call the police now. It’s very simple,” said the man to the foreigner who was trying to cover his face and begging the man not to take action.

“You’re not supposed to come to Singapore and do all this. Our jobs are getting lesser because of people like you. You don’t need to do this. You know that it’s wrong.”

The man then forces the foreigner to show his profile on the app.

“You some more dare to come to Orchard and do. I’ve been doing this for 4 years already,” said the man.

A heartless act

Although it is unclear where the video was originally shared, it has since been circulated on Twitter where netizens condemned the man for harassing the foreigner in such a way.

“Find another job, you’re a Singaporean, a lot of educational courses are subsidised. You have that unearned advantage of doing so. Yet you’re complaining and attacking an innocent man who is hustling to make a living for himself.”

“Let the man earn some extra living. No one is taking your jobs,” said a user.

Meanwhile, others urged the man to feel some sympathy for the foreigner.

“Be in his shoes and you would feel the struggle of working so hard and earning so little to feed his family back overseas. Everyone is hustling, just let them do their job,” commented another user.
