“Do not be deceived by its soft and small appearance, even such a tiny grape could obstruct a child’s respiratory tract”, said Public Health Malaysia in the post.
Luckily and fortunately, the child is safe and the grape was removed via surgery.
Public Health Malaysia concluded their post by reminding people that it’s definitely okay for children to eat fruits but just remember to slice them into the appropriate sizes, especially when giving to children.
Netizens also shared how their children choked on candy, raisins and even sausage!
Receiving 5.2k reactions, 1.6k comments, and 3.8k shares, Facebook users shared how their children choked on different types of food such as, candy, raisins, and even sausage.

Another Netizen however shared a very unfortunate and devastating experience, where their cousin’s 2-year-old child choked to death because of a grape.
Netizens suggest awareness of Heimlich maneuver
Facebook users suggested that the Public Health Malaysia group should create awareness and teach ways on how to do the Heimlich maneuver.
The Heimlich maneuver is an effective and highly-suggested method that should be used when facing a situation where someone is choking.
