Ah, the simple joys of being a catto in 2021…
Being a cat owner is somewhat similar to being in a relationship with a toxic person. You give them all the love and attention but you’ll get lucky to get back a simple “meow” from them. However, the main difference between a catto and your toxic ex is that cattos are way more adorable and thus we’ll never stop spoiling them.
A common way to spoil cats is of course giving them their favourite wet food but this cat-lover may have set the bar high for the rest of us. Twitter user Ihsan (@ihsnzlklfe) shared how he took several weeks to build a cat-bungalow for his cats made entirely out of IKEA products!
Ihsan who works at IKEA as a Visual Merchandiser even shared the items he used for the bungalow which includes:
1. HEJNE shelves (77×47) – 5 sets
2. HEJNE posts – 3 sets
3. OBSERVATOR – 2pcs
4. Fake grass (optional – custom to size)
5. Perspex/Plastic Net (for front side) – customizable based on how you set your HEJNE
6. Hinges – use the shelves as doors!
“I guess, it’s more of a townhouse concept. There’s two units in here, each unit has its own mezzanine floor.”
He added that the total cost for the bungalow came up to around RM500 to RM600. Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Ihsan said he’s always felt the need to separate his cats, Zen, Rufus, Lexi, Xana and Rens, when they need a time-out and for health purposes.
When he was working, he found out that IKEA had this range of products so he started working on the model on his computer.
Ihsan said his cats are all really comfortable being inside their bungalow but he still lets them roam around the house freely during the day. If you think Ihsan’s cats are cute, you can catch more of their antics on their Instagram account @zen.and.friends
