This looks like a really cool building, guys! We know that there’s no shortage of skyscrapers in the Klang Valley but this recent development project by M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd introduces something new to our city.
One of the most interesting buildings that caught our eye is the M101 Skywheel and it will feature a Ferris wheel that will be located 220 metres above ground. The Ferris wheel is on the 53rd floor and is said to be the first in the world, which also makes it the highest Ferris wheel in Southeast Asia. It looks really cool!
What’s more, the Ferris wheel houses a gigantic clock face! Imagine that!
The building is currently under construction and is slated to complete in 2021, where it will be located in Kampung Baru, right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. This also means that from the awesome looking Ferris wheel, you can get a spectacular view of the iconic KL skyline!
Designed by the same designer for the London Eye and Singapore Flyer, the 60-metre tall Ferris wheel may not be the tallest but it certainly is one of the most breathtaking!
The gross development value of this 78-storey project is estimated to be about a cool RM2.2 billion, according to The Star. The contractor for the project development of M101 Skywheel is China Railway Construction Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CRCC) and is designed by Studio F.A Porsche.
M101 Skywheel will have one of the world’s first highest shopping experience with an awesome SkyMall that will span more than 200,000 square feet and a Planet Hollywood Hotel, which will be the first in Asia. KL-ites can also look forward to more cool skyscrapers across the city as M101 is looking to develop 10 buildings with interesting designs.
We’re waiting eagerly to try the Ferris wheel once it’s completed!
