Taking to Twitter, @AsalGombak tweeted about campaign billboard popping in weird locations, up to a point that it burdens road users as it covers blind spots, junctions and are generally a nuisance to EVERYBODY!
Urging authorities to take action, here are some examples of how these billboards are endangering road users.
“SIGNBOARD KEMPEN PILIHANRAYA MENGGANGGU PENGGUNA JALANRAYA. Tolong lah ya kalau nak berkempen dengan signboard gedabak macamni, sila utamakan keselamatan pengguna jalanraya. Nak keluar masuk simpang pun susah. Semoga signboard seperti ini di sekitar Gombak segera diturunkan.”
In the tweet, the account writes: “Signboards disturbing traffic. We understand the need to campaign, but if you put up huge signboards, please consider the safety of road users.”
“It is difficult for us to maneuver junctions because of it. We hope that the sign around Gombak will be removed.”
Commenting on the tweet, netizens shared their experiences of how they were almost involved in accidents because of the campaign billboards.
Mentioning in their thread that the signs were against the law, another commented that the signs are no longer there.
