A man, believed to be a tourist in the Philippines, endured a terrifying situation when his limbs were almost torn off by a giant crocodile after he had climbed into the reptile’s enclosure to take selfies. He thought the crocodile was a statue.
According to a report by Kosmo, this incident took place at the Kabug Mangrove Park and Wetlands in Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines, on Monday (April 28).

During his visit to the park, the 29-year-old visitor decided to climb over the fence into the crocodile enclosure to take selfies with a 4.57-meter crocodile that he was convinced was a statue.
The situation then took a turn for the worse as the crocodile, named Lalay, suddenly grabbed the man and pulled him into the water.

Police Sergeant Joel Sajolga shared that the man was trapped inside the cage for about 30 minutes before he was rescued by Lalay’s keeper.
“The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and received more than 50 stitches. The man’s actions were stupid because he not only endangered himself but also others,” he added.
