While Malaysian YouTuber, Yang Bao Bei, said she respected Namewee for surrendering to the police, Hong Kong veteran actor, Anthony Wong, who worked with Namewee previously, also shared his personal story about the Malaysian singer.
Anthony admitted that he was shocked upon learning the news of the murder that Namewee was embroiled in, saying it was scary.

Anthony Wong said he was shocked by Namewee’s involvement in the case
Anthony has collaborated with Namewee on several music videos in the past, including with Iris.
In response to Namewee’s involvement in the case, Anthony’s knowledge of Namewee is no different from what the outside world knows. However, when asked to comment on the murder in Kuala Lumpur, Anthony refused to comment as the matter is still under police investigation.
“I am not in a position to speculate on what has happened,” he told the media recently after attending the premiere of a movie in Taipei.

Namewee hasn’t spoken to Anthony since he criticised Namewee’s song
In the interview, Anthony also revealed that Namewee hasn’t spoken to him for a long time, ever since he commented on the song that Namewee wrote.
“I thought he wanted me to criticise it, so I said, ‘You wrote it so badly,’ and he has not spoken to me after that.”

Namewee, Anthony Wong, and Iris appeared in the music video of China Reggaeton, which was released in January 2020.
At the time of writing (7 November), Namewee is in a 6-day remand as the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) investigates the murder of Iris Hsieh. Namewee was arrested in the hotel room where she was found dead, and PDRM found drugs on him, as well as testing positive for four different substances.
