It has become a tradition for fellow Malaysians regardless of race to speculate the price of fuel at the last day of every month. If the price goes down, the rakyat will keep calm and carry on with their lives. But if it goes up, our beloved Prime Minister Najib Razak is sure to come under fire, especially on social media.

As of February 1, the price of RON95 and RON 97 increased by 20cents which means Malaysians will have to pay RM2.30 for RON95 and RM2.60 for RON97.

As such, thousands of Malaysians ‘attacked’ Najib’s Facebook page by commenting ’20¢’ in the comment section.

Suddenly, every single post on his page blew up with ’20cents’ or ’20¢’ with no other explanation provided.

For instance, in one of his recent posts where he visited the flood victims in Pekan, a majority of the netizens commented ’20¢’ on the comment section while some improvised by writing ‘whereismy20¢’.

However, there were also some Najib’s supporter who commented ‘RespectMyPm’. We all know who these supporters are, don’t we?

Besides targeting his post, some netizens also spammed his profile picture with the same symbol. Time for a new profile pic.

Since the sprinkling-salt-dude a.k.a ‘saltbae’ is currently a sensation on the Internet, MGAG decided to create a local version of saltbae, featuring Najib. #supportlocal

Despite the relentless attacks from netizens, Najib has yet to respond to this embarrassing incident. In fact, he still has yet to release a statement regarding the price hike.

In anyway, the people still needs a statement about the recent hike don’t they? And hey, if you can’t beat em, join em 😉
