As the trial of embattled ex-Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak continues, many amusing hiccups have happened along the way. The man of the hour has tried postponing trial dates, complaining of eye-pain, haze, among other ‘valid’ reasons. The trial itself has also produced a number of hilarious episodes of its own, most notably when Datuk Seri Najib said that he had ‘forgotten everything that happened 9 years ago’. Surely you couldn’t have forgotten spending all that money.

Well, as it turns out, Datuk Seri Najib didn’t forget that he was spending millions of Ringgit that did not belong to him, according to The Star! While you may think that he’s finally coming clean about spending money that was from SRC International (also known as the 1MDB strategic development company), things… didn’t turn out exactly that way.

Najib Says He Spent Millions Of 1Mdb Money Because He Didn't Know It Belonged To Imdb - World Of Buzz 1

On Wednesday (January 22nd, 2020), Datuk Seri Najib told the High Court that he had spent every single sen in his accounts, because he didn’t know that the millions were from SRC International. Instead, he thought it was from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds that he had. Uh huh, right.

Maintaining his stance that he didn’t know the money essentially came directly from 1MDB, he was then cross-examined by ad-hoc prosecutor Datuk V. Sithambaram over the RM27 million that was deposited into his accounts in July 2014, and RM5 million in September 2014. This was how things went down.

Sithambaram: RM27mil went into your account in July, you said you did not know?

Najib: Yes, I did not know that it was SRC’s money, I only knew much later.

Sithambaram: But you spent every cent of it?

Najib: Yes.

Sithambaram: Did you know that RM5mil went into your account in September?

Najib: I did not know at that time.

Sithambaram: But you spent every cent of it?

Najib: Yes.

Sithambaram: In December, RM27mil went into your account. Did you know that?

Najib: At that time, I did not know.

Sithambaram: But you spent it?

Najib: Yes, I spent it… it was the CSR fund that I had.

So, despite not knowing (or checking) that huge sum of money that was suddenly deposited into his account, Datuk Seri Najib admits that he spent every last sen, until there was nothing left.

Well, we dunno but if we found THAT much money in our accounts, we’d probably want to first find out where it came from. What do you guys think?
