A teacher, with 12 years of experience in the capital, faced multiple rejections while attempting to transfer to the state where her husband worked. Little did she know that this would become the reason for her husband’s unfaithfulness, eventually leading to their divorce.
The teacher shared her experience on the Facebook group e-Gtukar Pertukaran Guru – Oh e-Gtukar!, in which she mentioned that her husband lived and worked in another state. Every two weeks, she would drive there with their two special-needs children to be with him.
Despite applying for a transfer multiple times in an effort to address the challenges of the long-distance relationship, all her attempts proved unsuccessful. As a result, this inconvenience significantly affected her personal life.
“I got divorced yesterday. During our long-distance relationship, I just discovered my husband’s infidelity. Apparently, he had been involved with another woman for the past two years. He chose to be with her because she was nearby and offered him support.”
In the same year, she observed other teachers, both with families and without, manage to return to their hometowns, while she patiently awaited her turn.
“Perhaps it’s for the best. I’ll remain hopeful and trust the process that’s meant for me.”
She mentioned contemplating ending her life but reconsidered when she saw her children. Now, she has decided to accept the circumstances guided by a higher power and is working towards moving forward in life.
“I decided to become an educator, and I have to deal with this situation. I hope to stay strong, and I wish that I and my colleagues looking for transfers can find a bit of hope.”
Marriage can be tough, and there are moments beyond our control. Wishing the best for the teacher and we hope that she stays strong for herself and her children.
