When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. In a viral TikTok post by the badminton store @phatboys_official, a group of Malaysian men made do with what they had to make a wedding ceremony as grand as they wished.

The “Military Saber Arch” wedding tradition sees 6 to 8 men standing across from each other and when instructed, they raise the swords to form an arch, allowing the bride and groom to walk under the blades. So, what do you do when you want to replicate this tradition but you just don’t have the key material – the swords?

No swords, no problem! Just like how Iron Man told Loki “We have a Hulk” in The Avengers Movie, the men at the wedding had “badminton rackets” as a substitute. So they raised their badminton rackets and laid down their swords.

Who knew something that they’ve always had at their disposal would come in handy on such a big day?

When the newlyweds were nearing the wedding altar, a group of men immediately raised their rackets to form an arch, allowing the couple to walk below it. Well, when there’s a will, there’s a way! The men then slowly put down their swords (we mean rackets) when the couple reached the alter, as the crowd tried to capture the historic moment.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, the admin of the TikTok account said that the wedding took place recently at a hall in Rawang. The newlyweds, however, are not his friends or relatives. The couple is actually part of the team, Phatboys Badminton Store.

“It was actually the wedding of our employees. They’re close to us like family.”

The idea to replace badminton with swords came up earlier as a safer (and legal) method for the team to replicate the Military Saber Arch tradition at the wedding. You can watch the tradition below and since it’s a safer option, all acts can be duplicated!
