Motorcyclists have some pretty neat tricks to keep themselves dry when it rains. Some will have their pillion passenger carry an umbrella for them, others will wait under bridges until the rain stops before heading off. But by far the most common sight on the roads are motorcyclists who wear jackets or raincoats terbalik to shield themselves from the droplets.
However, this may not be the safest solution, as this Facebook post will come to show. In the post, a dashcam video shows a motorcyclist riding in rainy weather. She can be seen wearing a jacket terbalik and a helmet. Pretty normal sight, right?
But what happens next is going to give you plenty of reason to stop wearing your jacket terbalik in the rain when you ride a motorbike! In seconds, the motorcyclist’s jacket winds up being caught in the rear wheel of her motorbike, and she’s dragged off her seat and into the rear wheel.
We then see the rider tumbling onto the road, with her head sucked into the wheel arch of her motorbike on the ground!
The rider winds up on the road with the weight of his entire motorbike on her head. Thank goodness she was wearing a helmet at the time!
Concerned road-users who saw the incident take place stopped their cars immediately to help the woman dislodge herself from her motorbike. Six men worked together to lift the bike off her, while also dislodging her jacket from the wheel.
Whether the woman has sustained any life-threatening injuries is unknown at this time. Some netizens have reported that she was almost strangled by her own jacket and had difficulty breathing when she was dislodged.
Let this story be a reminder to all motorcyclists that you should be careful of wearing long, oversized garments as they may result in dangerous accidents like this happening! Stay safe!
