The responsibilities delegated to eldest children are a unique experience to those who lived it. Often deemed to be the most dependable of their siblings, there’s hardly any wonder as to why such a notion exists. One little girl, however, is showing that no matter how old she is, she will continuously engage in her duties as an older sister in a mature and rational manner.
A recent TikTok video has been making waves online for the sweetest reason, after Malaysian mother and content creator named Akma Syafira shared a video to her page @akmasyafira of her oldest child preparing milk for her younger triplet daughters before sending them off to bed.
In the video, Akma’s eldest child, 6-year-old Ufaira, sat on the countertop in their kitchen as she prepared milk formula for her triplet sisters, whose names are Naida, Nelly, and Nelda. With the trio standing close to the edge of the counter, Ufaira was careful to make sure none of her sisters accidentally took their milk bottles until after she completed the mixture.
Shaking each drink, Ufaira soon completes her task, giving each milk bottle to her sisters. Shortly after that, Ufaira then took the trio to bed. Making them lie next to each other, the video ended with Ufaira looking over her three sisters, content from her evening of seeing to their needs.
Garnering an overwhelmingly positive response online, many users praised not only Akma for her clear success in parenting her children, but also Ufaira, who diligently undertook her responsibilities as an eldest child, though it was not her primary responsibility to care for her sisters.
Other users even went as far as to say that this is how most eldest daughters are, caring enough to truly take care of their own families.
“All eldest daughters are like this. Even after they get married and start their own home, they will always think of their other brothers and sisters,” penned one commenter.
