During the flooding incident this year, we can see that it has created a lot of devastation and misery. However, many choose to look forward and see the best out of the situation.

One of those people is 22-year-old Syafiq Ellanis who lives in Dungun, Terengganu.

In a series of photos by BERNAMA on Facebook, Syafiq is seen literally mandi-ing some kerbaus!

Not sure if you remember, but mandi kerbau is an idiom that basically means taking a quick shower which might not be clean enough!

According to the caption of the post, Syafiq was bathing his uncle’s buffaloes and it seems that he does it every time the floods occur.

They have a total of 18 buffaloes and both of them take turns bathing the cattle as it indirectly reduces the water consumption at home.

Other than that, it is said that bathing buffaloes in floodwaters are a great way to spend time with them and to manja-manjakan (spoil) them! Awww so cute!

This certainly looks very fun! Eventhough it is very tempting to just jump into the floodwaters and swim to your heart’s content, it is definitely NOT recommended!

Think about it, the water from the sewage plant, drains, your toilet bowl and the polluted rivers make up the body of floodwaters.

So it is certainly not a good idea to swim in floodwaters as it is full of bacteria! It’s even worse if you have any open wounds as floodwaters can cause them to be infected.

The floods this year seem to last quite a while and has devastated a lot of places. We hope that this flooding season will end soon as the people have suffered enough.
