A Malaysian woman recently took to the Komuniti Bisnes Bdr Teknologi Kajang / Semenyih / Bangi/ Nilai Facebook page to seek the general public’s help in obtaining dashcam footage, as her car had been damaged after she had double-parked and blocked another vehicle at a hospital parking lot in Kajang.
She wrote, “I would like to ask for a good deed from you. For your information, my car’s window was shattered and (car door) was dented because I blocked someone else’s car. I admit I was wrong.”
“Anyone who was at Kajang Hospital, there is a car park inside the hospital (in front of RHR Hotel on 11 November from approximately 1pm to 3pm), I want to ask for a good deed from anyone who saw the incident on that date and time to be a witness or if there is dashcam recording from cars that were parked there, that would be even better.”
She then included her phone number in the post and asked anyone who witnessed or has footage of the incident to contact her.
Malaysians did not sympathise with her
However, Malaysians were not too sympathetic to her situation as they pointed out that she should accept the damage as a lesson not to double-park without leaving her handbrake down or leaving her phone number displayed in her car.
“No need to find who did it lah. Why are you looking for them? Do you want them to compensate? There’s no need. You are at fault, you should be responsible for it. Next time, if you want to block other vehicles in, leave a phone number or don’t pull up your handbrake,”
“Now that you want to find the perpetrator, you are smart to leave your phone number. My advice is that there’s no need for you to find them. Be responsible for it yourself as a lesson.”
“Take it as a fee for being careless. There’s no need to find the perpetrator. If it was me (being blocked in), I may have done the same thing.”
“Take it as a lesson. Don’t block other people’s cars. If it was 10 to 30 minutes, it would be understandable but this was 3 hours. Next time, leave your phone number. Take this as the price you have to pay for taking up someone else’s precious time.”
The woman had allegedly displayed her phone number on her car dashboard
In a twist of events, it appears that the woman did leave her phone number in her double-parked car, but had allegedly not picked up her phone calls.
The #UpdateInfo X account shared a video by the apparent perpetrator, who allegedly tried calling the woman but she didn’t pick up.
“Double parked at a hospital. I waited for more than 30 minutes. I called tens of times but you didn’t pick up. You might as well don’t leave your phone number,” the perpetrator wrote.
