A 24-year-old Malaysian named Timothy Long (also known as Tim) recently shared on TikTok that his car broke down when using the NKVE expressway. Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Tim said his car overheated on his way home at about 5pm on July 17.
@liltemee I didnt call anyone so how did they know a damsel was in distress ? #tiktokmalaysia #car #crissywakeup
As he did not know what to do, he called his father and sent him his GPS location. Then he waited at the side of the road next to his car.
After a short while, several men wearing the PLUS highway vest showed up and helped Timothy to fix up his car using some water.
The car started functioning again, and Tim could resume his journey home. The young man was also very grateful that the PLUS workers came to help him when he was in need.
In the video’s caption, the 24-year-old mentioned that he did not make any calls to PLUS. A netizen cleared his doubt by saying there are CCTVs on highways allowing PLUS to spot emergencies, making it easier for them to send help. Others say that the PLUS workers were on patrol and had spotted Tim’s car.
“Every hour or so they will patrol the highway if I’m not wrong.”
Helpful netizens advised on what to do when your vehicle breaks down on a highway.
“This is why all cars need to have a bottle of mineral water inside.”
This is undoubtedly knowledge that all car owners should have. If you or your friends are stuck on PLUS highway, be sure to call their hotline at 1800-88-0000 to request for help.
