Voulez-vous visiter Paris?

Since the Tokyo 2020 Olympics officially ended on 8 August, the hype about the next Olympics has already begun. And here’s something for all you Malaysians to look forward to in the next Olympics in Paris, France!

The Paris 2024 Olympics is currently looking for volunteers and yes, Malaysians are eligible to apply!

If you think you would be down to register as a volunteer, whether you plan to go by yourself or with friends, worry not! They are looking for up to 50,000 volunteers for the next Olympics!

So, what are the criteria you would have to meet?

Well, it’s pretty simple and straightforward.

Volunteers will have to be over the age of 18 years old and must have the ability to speak at least two languages. (Malaysians no problem right?)

If eligible, you will be dealing with accommodation and accreditation, handling arrivals and departures in train stations and airports, at the official ceremonies, directing spectator flows, providing language assistance, helping to organise tournaments and a lot more, as stated on their website.

Besides that, volunteers will also have to give their time to the event, including going for the trials that will take place before the competition.

“All Summer and Winter Games attract a great many applications from people who want to enjoy the Olympic and Paralympic adventure from the inside,” the website wrote.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience: an opportunity to connect with hundreds of people from countries around the world, meet people you won’t meet anywhere else, and share the excitement surrounding the world’s largest sports event.”

And of course, there’s a high possibility of you bumping into your favourite athletes!

But… registration only opens in 2023!

Cool down, guys! Before you start planning anything further, you must know that the registration only opens up in early 2023. Yes, in 2 years’ time.

Don’t worry though, we’ll definitely give you guys a reminder when the time comes! In the meantime though, you can start saving up in case you do make it.

Just know there’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (or technically once in four years…) for you to look forward to! Share this with your friends and family members who would surely jump at this opportunity.
