The accessibility to trains, buses, and flights makes things easier for Malaysians to balik kampung every festive season, especially for those who don’t own a vehicle. Some people, however, want to make good use of the season of celebration to up their games.
So, they do so by renting fancy cars to go back to their hometown in glamourous ways. According to the founder of Dino Car Rental, Hafiz Johari, Toyota Vellfire and Alphard have ALWAYS been the top choices for Malaysians who want to rent a car to balik kampung.
These MPVs are no doubt, the best choices for big families but Hafiz added that some people are willing to fork out a lot of money for luxury cars.
Some of them prioritise style and want to go back to kampung with gaya.
“They are willing to pay between RM1,500 to RM5,000 a day to rent a Ford Mustang, Mercedes, BMW, Lamborgini, and Porsche.”
Hafiz said that the reservations for Toyota Vellfire and Alphard had been full since January itself. Despite the prices and the selection of cars, Hafiz said that everyone can rent with him because the prices and packages vary, depending on what the customers can afford as reported by Harian Metro and Sin Chew.
When he started the business 7 years back, there were only Perodua Axia and Bezza available before the selections expanded.
“The rental starts from RM100 and goes up to RM5,000 a day. Everything depends on what the customers want, or what they can afford.”
Hafiz also said that he has 6 packages available for the customers, namely,
- Budget
- Middle
- Luxury
- Lifestyle
- Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV)
- Multi-purpose Vehicle (MPV)
Hafiz, who runs the business with his friend said that he decided to expand the options when he realised the potential it has.
As for those who came back to Malaysia from overseas, Hafiz said they would typically rent the cars for over a month before they leave the country again. You can check out Dino Car Rental’s official FB page here.
