Understanding the pains and challenges of pregnancy is something unique to most women in this world, though it surely isn’t something any man will truly comprehend entirely. However, one Malaysian husband recently carried out a unique task in an attempt to empathise with what his pregnant wife is currently going through.
In TikTok clip shared to his page @narendran60, a Malaysian husband whose name is Narendran, decided to wrap a medium-sized watermelon to his stomach for a day using cellophane wrap. This was done so he could simulate what it would be like to be in his wife’s shoes, who is eight months pregnant, while carrying out her regular day-to-day tasks.
Beginning the day, Narendran first had to get himself dressed before driving to a nearby convenience store to purchase some items. Upon successfully doing so, he proceeded to go home and do laundry for his household. From pouring detergent into a bucket to placing their clothes into it as it laid on the floor, it was not long before Narendran started sweating, needing to take a seat on the toilet.
Winded and exhausted, Narendran slowly yet consistently continued washing each garment before hanging them out to dry on a clothes rack in the porch of his house. By the end of the clip, Narendran was relieved to finally unwrap the watermelon from his stomach and rest after a hard day’s work.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Narendran stated that his intent with carrying out this challenge was merely to understand what it’s like for a pregnant woman to go about her everyday tasks.
“I did it more so to feel the pain of a mother. On top of that, I only did about one to two percent of those tasks. Mothers will of course have more to do and struggle more than I do,” said Narendran to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Receiving immense praise online, multiple people applauded Narendran for taking the time to attempt this challenge, as not all husbands would necessarily try this.
“Women on Earth are God’s gift, especially mothers! Without them, life is nothing. Stay blessed,” wished one commenter to the couple.
