Due to having trusted her lover, a woman ended up with a debt of up to RM600,000 after making various loans from multiple parties including 7 loan sharks.
According to a report by Buletin TV3, the 33-year-old victim known as Low shared that she had met her now ex-boyfriend back in 2017, when they both attended the same function. Soon after, they had began dating before breaking up 2 years ago.
“At the end of 2018, he experienced financial problems and asked me to take up a loan because he was apparently blacklisted by financial institutions. Because I was too trusting, at that time I followed the wishes of my ex-boyfriend and took up a loan of about RM300,000 from Shah Alam,” she said.
She added that her 34-year-old ex-boyfriend had also forced her to manage the affairs of his business and take care of the customers that he was unable to handle himself.
Despite the woman putting herself in difficult situations for him, the ex-boyfriend also cheated on her!
“At the same time, I found out he was in a relationship with another woman when some of his victims contacted me. They claimed that my ex-boyfriend had cheated large amounts of money from them and asked me to pay it.”
She then ultimately decided to end her relationship with the ex-boyfriend, but has since had to bear the debts he had incurred as he became uncontactable.
Another victim also spoke up!
The man also scammed another woman, a 33-year-old clerk named Mah, who admitted to losing RM100,000 to him after meeting him through a matchmaking application in 2021. She added that he was a sweet talker.
In addition to deceiving women, he is also believed to have defrauded a friend of RM181,400 involving the sales and purchase of face masks during the Covid-19 outbreak.
It seems that people truly cannot be trusted these days. We urge everyone to be weary of others, especially when money is involved.
