Being a single parent can be hard, especially when it comes to the loneliness of not having a partner to parent with you.

One Malaysian single father ultimately decided that he and his son needed a new female figure in their life, after losing his wife, and has apparently taken to Facebook to advertise his son in an effort to attract a woman who would be willing to be a stepmother.

According to a report by Kosmo, the widower shared his son’s characteristics in the Facebook advertisement, to make it easier for candidates to consider becoming a stepmother to his child.

“Boy, 8-years-old, active, spoiled, friendly with everyone. I hope someone is willing to be a mother to my child,” he wrote.

The widower and the boy had lost their wife and mother respectively, in an accident when the boy was only 5-years-old.

“3 years have passed, it is time for my son to have a mother to share her love. I hope that there is someone who is willing,”

“I, myself, will not choose how you are going to be, the important thing is that you sincerely accept my son and me. I prefer someone who does not work so that they are able to focus on raising children. Insya-Allah, I am able to support my small family,” he added.

Many have since supported the man’s efforts to find a mother figure for his son and hope that his search will be fruitful.
