Desperation can sometimes lead people to do things that they perhaps wouldn’t have done so if everything was normal. Sometimes, festivities require money and people would go through great lengths such as stealing items just to get some form of money.

However, sometimes, it appears that not everyone steals just to get money.

A picture of a man recently went viral on social media platforms after it was said that he had stolen a pack of condoms on Hari Raya.

The incident apparently took place at an Eco Mart at PV18, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur on Hari Raya (2 May) at 4:30pm. The suspect was captured wearing a bright orange baju melayu with a songkok.

The wanted picture posted by the store reads, “CONDOM STEALER.”

Netizens are wondering why someone would steal condoms

The picture has gone viral on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Social media users expressed their confusion on why someone would steal condoms in the first place.

“Good that he’s stealing condoms, hopefully he won’t continue his bloodline,” said a user.

Another netizen commented that although it is great that he’s making sure that he’s engaging in protected sex, stealing is still wrong.

Meanwhile, some users pointed out the timing and how he wasted no time since Ramadan had just ended.

Some users even shared that this happens way more often than we think. “When I used to work at a pharmacy, condoms are the items that disappear the most, including ‘the other accessories’. Maybe they feel ashamed to actually pay for it,” commented a user.

Another user pointed out how so many people are ashamed of buying condoms. “Normalise buying condoms please. Make sure that you don’t spread STDs just because you were ashamed of buying it.”
