A man is in an uproar over the negligence of the staff at a car wash inside a popular supermarket in Johor Bahru, Johor, after his father-in-law’s car was stolen by an unknown individual on Monday (September 8).
According to a report by Sinar Harian, 30-year-old Muhammad Sharuddin Mat Masrol shared that he brought his father-in-law’s white Toyota Camry ACV 40 to a workshop for some fixes.

After picking up the vehicle from the workshop, Muhammad Sharuddin and his wife stopped at the popular supermarket to do some shopping before returning the vehicle to his father-in-law, and decided to drop the car off at the car wash inside the supermarket.
“After about 45 minutes of shopping, I returned to get my father-in-law’s car. However, the employee there told me that the car had been taken by someone who claimed to be my friend when I did not know him at all, nor did I ask anyone to pick up the car,” he said.
Action to be taken
Muhammad Sharuddin has filed a report at the Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Headquarters and has plans to take further action.
“I have filed a police report regarding this matter due to the negligence of the car wash employee who handed over the car keys to an unknown individual. I will also file a lawsuit for the negligence that occurred and hope that the car can be found soon,” he explained, adding that the car was very important for his father-in-law’s daily use.
Meanwhile, the Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, has since confirmed the incident and that his department received a report regarding the loss of the car.
