Losing a family member is undoubtedly a challenging experience that leaves a lasting impact on the surviving members. While there’s no way to avoid intense feelings of grief, finding healthier ways to cope and come to terms with it can make the journey a bit more bearable.
@emilia_affarina recently shared a special moment on TikTok during her convocation. Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she revealed her mother’s passing in June due to an infection.
Despite the sadness surrounding her mother’s passing, she shared that her mother had been genuinely excited about her graduation day.
“I really wanted to bring my mother for my graduation day, even if it’s just a framed picture of her,” she expressed.
Unfortunately, she received the disheartening news that the framed picture wouldn’t make it in time for the graduation ceremony, which left her feeling sad.
To her surprise, on the day of her graduation, her family presented her with a picture frame containing an image of her late mother.
“I felt both sad and happy when I saw the picture of my mother. But I was more happy that she was there, and I get to be with her on my special day.”
She shared that the family even took pictures together, holding the framed photo, creating a complete picture that included her mother in spirit.
The touching story resonated with netizens, who couldn’t help but share their thoughts in the comments.
“I was determined to finish my degree, even though I know my mother won’t be able to be there when I graduate. I pray that I’ll finish my degree with flying colours.”
“My convocation day is approaching, but my parents are no longer here. I hope I’ve made them proud.”
“Congratulations. Your mother must be proud of you.”

When you lose someone important in your life, it’s okay to feel how you feel. The pain should gradually become easier to bear, but the memories and the love you had for the person will always remain.
