Online shopping might be a fun pastime for some but for others, it’s their only source of income and livelihood. One woman received the shock of her life when she received a package of her supposed business supplies in a tampered condition.
Nina (@NinaFoyy) expressed her disappointment on Twitter after receiving her damaged package that held perishable food items she intended to sell.
Items that she wanted to sell were damaged
She said, “I’m not mad, I’m just very heartbroken and disappointed. Being currently heavily pregnant, I accepted the package with open arms when it arrived. I never expected my package would turn out to be in such a condition with the box being ripped, including the loss of some goods.”
Nina added that she had begun to question her livelihood at this crucial time.
“My stock of cheese popiah and cookies are now insufficient. I am a pregnant mother and an orphan. Please God hear my prayer, whoever stole these goods that I intended to sell, please let them receive what they deserve.”
Made a complaint to the courier company
Nina told WORLD OF BUZZ that after the incident, she made a complaint to J&T headquarters in Malacca. However, they responded by asking her to only liaise with her supplier on the updates of the case. She then tried to contact the J&T branch in Krubong, Malacca which unfortunately just led to a voicemail.
Not the only one
With over 5,000 retweets and 6,000 likes at the time of writing, Nina’s post received countless responses from users sharing similar situations that they had experienced.
One user shared, “I had an experience where my parcel was cut open. I had bought a collar for my kitten which had bells on it, creating a “kacing kacing” sound. When my husband received the package he did not realise that it had been cut open at the top corner. The people must’ve thought that I had purchased a gold bracelet.”
While another user shared, “Previously I had an experience where two bottles of supplements worth RM200 went missing. I then received a text from the courier service, asking whether I had already received the package. When I tracked down my parcel, it stated that my parcel was on hold and is currently under investigation. I wondered why they had messaged me to ask whether I’ve received my parcel. After a long discussion with the service, they decided to provide me with a refund worth RM100.”
In the midst of the situation, WORLD OF BUZZ took the time to contact the courier service regarding the complaints that have been shared. However, the company has yet to get back to us with a statement.
