Have you ever wondered about the story behind your name? Well, prepare to be amazed by the fascinating story of a Malaysian gentleman named Hakim. Hakim, an up-and-coming podcaster from Malaysia who goes by the handle @omghakimparker, took to his TikTok and shared the incredible story behind his name.
The video gained momentum, racking up an impressive 98.8K likes and counting!
In the video, set in a casual backdrop in Hakim’s podcast, the host of Borak Space revealed the origin of his name.
Hakim stated that both of his parents are lawyers. As if that wasn’t extraordinary enough, he unveiled the meaning behind his name, which left viewers awestruck.
Hakim, translates to “wise one” in Arabic. However, in Malay, it also means “Judge”. And guess what? Both meanings couldn’t be more appropriate for him, given his parents’ legal profession.
One of Hakim’s fellow podcasters chimed in, exclaiming, “You’re literally the fruit of their labour!”
Indeed, it was a touching observation, highlighting the poetic connection between Hakim’s name and his parents’ career paths.
But the story doesn’t end there. Hakim continued to dive into even more astonishing details about his father’s role in shaping Malaysia’s legal landscape. Apparently, Hakim’s dad played a pivotal role in enacting the speed trap law, a regulation that affects countless individuals across the country.
For those unfamiliar with speed traps, they are a common sight in Malaysia. These measures are implemented to curb speeding and promote road safety. However, Hakim revealed that when his father introduced the speed trap law, it was an unprecedented move. No such legislation existed at the time.
The declaration left Hakim’s friends in a state of awe and disbelief. “This is because of your dad!” one of them exclaimed, struggling to process the sheer magnitude of Hakim’s family connection to this significant legal development.
Amidst the astonishment, Hakim emphasised that he, too, had to abide by the speed trap law and pay fines like any other citizen. It was a humbling reminder that even though his father had played a vital role in its implementation, no one was above the law.
Hakim concluded his captivating story by revealing his father’s motive behind the speed trap law. He explained that the intention was to ensure that people slowed down in dangerous areas, underlining the use of having sign boards as, “Slow down or your wallet will be beaten up”.
In an interview with WORLD OF BUZZ, Hakim said,
“If you ever feel lonely and find that no one can relate to your pain, come on over to the podcast. No one should feel alone.”
Netizens were quick to comment their views behind Hakim’s name.
“So cool, having parents like that.”
“The real lawyer’s child.”
