Many people take on offshore jobs for the financial benefits, especially when they have a family to support. These jobs pay well, but the downside is being away from your spouse and kids.

In a recent confession story shared by @meinmokhtar, a 38-year-old man (let’s call him Ashraf) anonymously shares his heartbreaking story after discovering his wife’s infidelity.

She cheated despite him giving her a comfortable life

Ashraf talked about working in top management in the oil and gas industry, where he makes RM40K a month. Because of his job, he often has to go offshore and spends less time at home with his wife and kids.

He explained how he discovered his wife’s infidelity after finding indecent pictures and videos of her and her best friend, revealing they had been cheating for 2 years.

“I’m not angry, but I do feel disappointed in her since I’ve done so much to make sure she has the best life. I gave her an RM8K allowance, a luxury car, and a credit card to buy anything she wants. I can’t see how that’s not enough for her.”

He chose the job to provide a better life for his family

Ashraf shared that he’s decent-looking and has always fulfilled his responsibilities as a husband. However, he admitted that his main drawback is being away for work about 60% of the time.

But when he’s home, he makes sure to be 100% present and spend quality time with his family.

“I love my children dearly and don’t want them to grow up in a broken family. I chose this job to provide a better life for my family, so what did I do to deserve this?”

This isn’t the 1st time his wife cheated on him

Ashraf revealed that this is the 3rd time he has caught his wife cheating. The 1st time was when they were still dating, the 2nd time when they got engaged. The difference this time is that he has more concrete proof.

It’s been 4 months since Ashraf discovered his wife’s infidelity, and he still hasn’t confronted her because he’s unsure what to do next.

“To all the men out there, just because you have money and good looks doesn’t guarantee a happy marriage. To those experiencing the same thing as me, I can only hope that we all remain strong.”
