Threatening a girl to share her nude pictures is a heinous act, but threatening a deceased girl’s family just makes it a lot worse.
Thankfully, justice still prevails in Malaysia.
As according to Bernama, the Magistrate Khalijah Mohd Khalid has sentenced 20-year-old G.Vieshnuu to five years in jail and a fine of RM17,000 for possessing pornographic materials and committing criminal intimidation.
He pleaded guilty to all the charges read out to him after he had intimidated and threatened to share nude pictures of a teenage girl.
On the first count, he had intimidated the 17-year-old deceased victim’s sister by threatening to share the victims nude photos on 3 August at Teluk Kumbar, Penang. For this, he was sentenced to 19 months’ imprisonment and a fine of RM7,000, in default one year’s jail.
The second charge came after he intimidated the victim’s mother at the same place and day, and was sentenced to 20 months of imprisonment and fined RM5,000, in default 17 months’ jail.
He was then also charged with possession of pornographic materials of the victim, in the form of videos and images, with the intent of disseminating the obscene visuals, which he was given 21 months in jail and a fine of RM5,000, in default 18 months’ jail.
The accused was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 292 (a) of the Penal Code. His sentence will run concurrently.
Reports show that the victim had committed suicide after the accused had threatened her. What he did was truly despicable especially considering the mother and sister would have been mourning the loss of their loved one.
No one should ever have to go through something like that.
