Selma is probably the cutest little girl you’ve ever seen in your LIFE!
Not only is she cute, but she also has a good heart to match!
Taking to Twitter, one netizen shared the story of Selma on her feed, sharing a video of her daily musings and a discussion she had with her father as she was making her way back from school.
In a text message from her teacher, here is what Selma did in school.
“I thought I’d share with you something really sweet Selma did in class today. She noticed that every day one of the teachers would bring snacks over for a little girl who couldn’t walk because she had Leukodystrophy.”
For those out there who do not know what Leukodystrophy is, it is a rare genetic disease that affects the brain, spinal cord and often the peripheral nerves.
Wanting to help out Selma asked for more snack from her teacher, stating that she wants to give some to her less fortunate friend.
Aww isn’t that sweet?
With her teacher adding that it is tough to instil empathy in children, to Selma, it comes naturally.
“Even today at PE she was cheering her friend on to complete the obstacle course that was set up.”
“She likes to help her friend. Both of you (Selma’s parents) taught her well.”
Realising how special his daughter was, her father Syarif brought her a gift to show her just how proud he is of Selma.
“Today you made me proud you know. Do you know why you made me proud? (*I don’t know).”
“Because you helped your friend who was less fortunate than you right? So I have a reward for you.”
After asking where her reward was, she was greeted with probably her favourite dessert, an apple pie.
At the end of the video, her father Syarif had nothing more than kind words for Selma.
“I came to parenting the way most of us do, knowing nothing and trying to learn everything.”
“AlthoughI know there’ll never be another perfect human being, for each day that I’m blessed with life, I’ll work towards becoming a better parent for my kids.”
“Unknowingly, I learn a lot from them too, like teaching us to become a better version of ourselves every day.”
“Today you make my heart flutter @selmamalika.”
Truly an inspirational story.
