Anything is possible in Malaysia, so long as you have dedication, determination and connections.
As we all know by now, the current Movement Control Order (MCO) put in place has not made life easy and still, there are people out there who haven’t been able to grasp the concept of social distancing.
While we should all be cooped up at home for our own good, it’s crazy to think that there could be people who still insist on going out for whatever reason, and that’s because they happen to have “connections”.
This is one of those cases.
Taking to Twitter, @pedoqpop shared images of a Malaysian who thought that it would be ok for her to flaunt her father’s beneficial “connections” just because she had “mood swings”.
Wow!
In her tweet, the lady said, “I am having mood swings today. I told my parents that I want to return to Kuantan.”
“Then papa called his friend to help out. His friend was unable to answer probably because there are many people asking for help during this MCO. I’m trying out my luck, if my dad’s connection will help.”
Well, isn’t that convenient?
She then tweeted again showing a video of her making her way back to Kuantan, Pahang on the 12th of April 2020. It looks like her father’s connection came through.
With several friends later DM-ing her for details on how she was able to get through the MCO blockade, here is what she says.
“Many are asking me how I managed to go back to Kuantan. This is hard for me to explain. You have to go to the police station and ask for permission with concrete reasoning behind it. If not they will not allow you to pass through.”
“There are roadblocks everywhere and without permission from the police, you will not be allowed through. I can because I have a letter that allowed me to return to Kuantan.”
Malaysians who saw the tweet went on the warpath slamming the netizen for the revelation of her father’s connection.
The netizen has since deactivated her account but looking at the number of retweets on @pedoqpop‘s twitter and various others, this issue is definitely far from over.
Hilariously, netizens also unearthed a #stayathome message she posted earlier.
We’re guessing staying at home just got too hard for her.
Let’s hope that people like this do not become an inspiration for others to do the same just because they can. Come on people, we are better than this!
