Keeping track of one’s funds is crucial to ensure no overspending occurs. But one Malaysian husband found a way to explain the breakdown of his family’s expenses in a much more creative way.

Malaysian financial guru and content creator Fairuz Izwan recently shared a TikTok clip to his page @mfairuzizwan discussing how much his family spent in 2023. However, the clip is receiving a big response by the public for the sheer unique method Fairuz used when making the slides.

Dubbing his creation “2023 Couple Finances Wrapped“, Fairuz used key elements from Spotify’s Wrapped campaign for his digital creation. For those who may not be familiar, Wrapped allows Spotify users to view a compilation of data about their activity on the platform over the past year of usage.

In the beginning of the clip, Fairuz displayed how much him and his wife each contributed to their household. Dividing their expenditure into multiple elements, Fairuz also tabulated the couple’s biggest spendings for 2023, including medical services for the birth of their child, shopping, and groceries.

Aside from that, Fairuz also demonstrated other funds they created for various familial matters and insurance payments.

Topping off the entire presentation, Fairuz ended the Financial Wrapped slides with their goals for 2024, which included a family trip overseas, a joint investment for the duo, and saving a substantial amount of money for their son.

“Decided to do my own little family’s Financial Wrapped. Some very good insights for myself and my wife so we can work to better our finances,” wrote Fairuz in the caption of his post.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Fairuz said that he was inspired to make these slides after viewing not only his own Spotify Wrapped for 2023, but by seeing other people make their on versions for their travel adventures.

I was thinking, why not make a financial version? Usually at the end of the year, companies would make their own townhalls, thus I decided to incorporate that element in. I did the slides without the knowledge of my wife to surprise her also,” said Fairuz to WORLD OF BUZZ.

Garnering massive attention for his creation, many Malaysians praised Fairuz for going the creative route when discussing a very important topic, family finances.

“This is actually a good practice for married couples. Well done!” complimented one user.
