Some work days are harder to get through than others. We’ve all been there! But one Malaysian employee may have just discovered a way to catch up on her rest in the most fitting way possible – though she may not be alone in actually carrying this out.
A recent TikTok clip has been making waves online after one woman named Nor Azliza “Liza” Sadeli shared a moment to her page @lizalee888 of herself finding the perfect spot to take a nap in the office. Yes, you read that correctly.
In the video, Liza revealed the items she uses when putting together her nap spot, which is located just under her work desk. Laying a blanket down and towards the corner of her table, Liza also places a pillow on one end of the blanket to rest her head on. As the last piece, Liza attaches a strip of curtain, which she stitched herself, on the edge of the desk to conceal her sleeping area.
“I can confirm that it’s comfortable underneath here, as it’s cold and dark,” wrote Liza in a caption across the video.
Taking her shoes off and climbing underneath her table, Liza also laid a blanket open before taking her much needed nap. Once her lunch hour concluded, Liza proceeded to fold and keep her items away before resuming her work tasks.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Liza stated that she had originally got the idea by seeing different videos from people online, and considered making a “sleeping port” for herself just under her table.
“After this, I have to find another port so my colleagues don’t accidentally find me and record what I look like sleeping. But normally during work hours, there aren’t a lot of people in the office anyways,” light-heartedly said Liza to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Garnering a massive response online, the most bizarre yet interesting thing to come out of Liza’s video were numerous Malaysians who related to her practice – admitting that they sleep in their offices too!
“I have taken a power nap in my office before. From about 11am I closed my eyes, and before you know, it was 4.30pm! I was shocked that no one realised,” commented one user.
Providing multiple examples, many Malaysians even spoke on their preferred nap spots in their office, including a beanbag, in a closet, inside of a box, and even in their cars.
“Same as me! Now, I have a room to myself so it’s easy. The floor is carpet so when I enter, I take off my shoes. When the afternoon arrives, I open a small mattress spread. Even a power nap for 15 to 20 minutes can make me feel good and fresh!” penned another user.
Multiple people, while in awe of the situation, noted that they’d not be able to do the same, as they were afraid they’d oversleep or even hit their heads unknowingly while in a similar spot.
“Not me who snores so loudly! Hahaha, my whole office will shake,” jokingly wrote one user.

That’s one way to use your lunch hour productively! If you’re not hungry, a nap will do just as well too.
