M’sian Assaulted & Choked While Buying Chicken Rice in Johor, PDRM Arrests 4 Suspects, Including a 17yo

4 individuals, including a 17-year-old, have been arrested after a viral video that took place in Kluang, Johor, surfaced, with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) confirming that they received a report about the assault.

According to Kluang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bahrin Mohd Noh, the incident happened around 11:15 PM while the victim was out buying chicken rice, as reported by China Press.

One of the suspects is 17 years old

In a statement, Bahrin said the incident happened at the covered basketball court in Kampung Paya, Kluang, on Saturday (10 October), when a 17-year-old local teen was attacked and choked by several individuals.

A special team from the Kluang District Police managed to arrest 4 local individuals aged between 17 and 24.

Background checks showed that two of them had prior criminal records, while the other two did not.

All the suspects tested negative in their urine tests

Bahrin said urine tests on all 4 suspects came back negative.

The case is being probed under Section 147 of the Penal Code, which carries up to 2 years in jail, a fine, or both if found guilty.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest police station or the Kluang District Police Headquarters.
