Many often say that animals are unable or incapable of feeling similar emotions to humans. But just as joy, sadness, and uncertainty, there are many instances that prove how our four-legged friends experience a lot more than what we give them credit for.

Malaysian host and content creator Adira “Dee” Farina recently shared a moment to her TikTok page @adirafarina between her cat and her family members after they had not seen him for over three months. Named Oreo, the black and white cat with piercing green eyes was physically picked up by his owner before she proceeded to stroke him.

Reciprocating the affection, Oreo leaned against Dee, putting his chin on her shoulder while being gently patted.

“At first, he was scared because he hadn’t seen us in so long. But when I started to hug him, he recognised me, my clingy boy. See you again, my Oreo,” wrote Dee in her caption.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Dee stated that their family had moved many times, and are currently residing in Johor. However, prior to that, they had moved to Pahang from Sarawak, and brought Oreo with them to reside in that home initially.

“When we came to Pahang, we let him roam free. He would only come back home to eat and play for a little while, then he’d be on his way again. We moved to Johor three months ago, and Oreo stayed in Pahang with the new tenant of the house,” said Dee to WORLD OF BUZZ.

Having been asked by multiple TikTok users, Dee stated that the reason they didn’t bring Oreo with them to Johor was out of concern that they’d need to put more restrictions on him, due to fear that he may have been attacked should he roam openly.

“We have caged him before because we were scared that he would have been attacked or run over by cars. In the past, he had resented us for keeping him in a cage, so that’s why we decided to leave him in Pahang, and with the outdoors. But whenever we go back and call him, he would come,” she added.

Continuing on, Dee said that it is the intention of her family to go back to their house in Pahang come February and take Oreo with them to Johor for good. Having worked a plan for him to live comfortably, Dee’s family also have Oreo’s mother in their possession.
